Infrastructure
The institute has adequate infrastructure to support its academic and other activities. Since it is a developing college some of the construction work is yet to start like addition of sports complex, a new Science block, other campus development work etc. for which amount has been lying with government agencies like PWD. The administration has been constantly trying to acquire new land. The college has 22.16 Bighas (17928 sq mt) of land situated at Gram Panchayat Balagad of Banjar. Himachal Pradesh Government has transferred some adjoining land of Horticultural Department measuring 5.19 Bigha (4199 sq mt) to the college in the year 2014.
Annually some grants are allocated for providing lab equipments, furniture items, IT facilities, sports facilities, books etc. All the departments give their requirements to the IQAC which allocates budget to different departments under various grants and funds. There are 9 Lecture Halls out of which two have been converted to smart classrooms. Also there are 5 Laboratories cum class rooms out of which four are equipped with ICT facilities. There is one Examination Hall, one IT Lab, one Language lab, one Seminar hall, one Library, Principal’s Office, Administrative Office, Staff room, one Music room, one Sports office, one Girls’ Common room, Principal’s Retiring room, Electricity Control room, College Canteen, Toilets in all the floors and separate Wash Rooms for girls and female staff in the college.
The class-rooms are spacious and well-furnished and new furniture has been added under RUSA 1.0 and 2.0, Utkrisht Mahavidyalaya and other government grants. For infrastructure creation more than 55 lakhs have been deposited for construction of sports ground, rain water harvesting system and drains, biodegradable waste management plant, up-gradation of college canteen, guard room, metalling of road, whitewashing of college building etc. to Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department. The campus has been made Wi-fi enabled and students and teachers can access various e- resources and study material free of cost. For the construction of Girls’ Hostel all the official formalities have been done and grants are required to initiate this work.
The library has around 10,000 books which comprise of both text and reference books. Process of web based cataloguing is underway and subscriptions of various e-resources have also been made. A printer and photo copier machine is also available for the use of students. Some of the recreational and sports facilities like Gymnasium, Table Tennis, Badminton, Boxing, Caroms and Chess etc. are also available to the students. A separate room is also available for girls. A number of clubs are also functioning in the college.
