Since the issue of girls is sensitive the college had initiated the official formalities for construction of a girls' hostel and a DPR has been received by the PWD Banjar with an initial accommodation for 60 girls. The college feels necessity of constructing Girls hostel on priority basis as students come from far off villages which consumes most of their energy and time. Especially girls face a lot of difficulty in commuting due to less frequency of public transport. Due to extreme weather conditions commuting becomes even more difficult. To avoid travelling at odd hours, poor rural girl students live in miserable conditions in costly rented accommodations. The preliminary estimate approved from Chief Engineer Mandi of approximate amount five crores thirty lakhs for construction of girls hostel has already been sent to The Director of Higher Education Himachal Pradesh Shimla and the working drawings of the building has been received from Sr. Architect Mandi for the work. Government funding is required to initiate this construction work.
